Ihre Aufgaben und Verantwortungen
The position is dedicated to development and integration of various existing modeling tools that can simulate the multidisciplinary aspects of development, including major built and infrastructural interrelations, related economics, flows, demographics, etc. The tool already consists of multiple modules each responsible for simulating different aspects of the county’s built environment. In this regard, this position is partially on the integration of existing various sub-modules, and new upcoming modules into an uniform platform. The work will consist of establishing complex interrelation and feedback-loop architecture of a new, optimized tool and implementation of them with the use of appropriate programming. Another important aspect of this project is the usability of the tool for the future users and developers. In this regard, this position also involves integration of user’s access optimization into the overall software architecture.

We are looking for outstanding candidates who hold a science master’s degree in the field of computational science, engineering, mathematics, informatics, physics, or electric engineering or equivalent. System thinking and being able to understand and organised complex systems are a necessary pre-requisite for the position. The candidates must have excellent programming skills in Phyton, C, C++ and basic skills in Java and be algorithm-savvy. Interest in holistic projects, big data and modelling are expected. Excellent written and verbal English required; knowledge of German is desirable but not mandatory. The candidate should have the ability and self-motivation to work both independently and as a team player. The candidate will complement our existing multi-disciplinary team comprised of researchers from different backgrounds, including engineers and architects. The interaction between the other members of the group and adapting the developed tool according to the evolving needs is also expected. This is an opportunity to participate in a project with highly recognized national partners to develop a holistic tool that can be used to evaluate different development scenarios and strategies, to coordinate activities across different disciplines and provide recommendations for better-informed planning.
